A Non-Alcoholic Drink (With The Effects of Alcohol) Is Here Just In Time For New Years!

I have a confession... I really don't like alcohol. *gasp* I know.  Sure, I love the effects of a glass of wine after a long Tuesday, or how social a martini makes me on a Saturday out with friends BUT I do not like the effects after it wears off. Even after 2 glasses of wine the next day I am nothing but unproductive and sluggish. Is anyone else with me?

On top of that, I’ve become really involved with wellness in the past few years. As of recently I can’t help but think “well if this is how my body responds to alcohol this clearly means it isn't a big fan.” So naturally, my curiosity got the best of me and after some research I found this amazing solution: Kin. I feel like this product has been on the DL for a long time but it's one that if you're into wellness (or even if you're just into not wanting to not feel hungover) you should know about. This post is solely my own opinion and is not sponsored! That's how you know it's good 😉

My Thoughts

Kin's motto: "All Bliss, No Booze" is exactly what I want from a late-night beverage. The packaging for all of their products is so well thought out and appealing. The brand is still relatively small which I love because I've found the quality assurance is definitely there. As for my thoughts on how a Kin buzz compares to an alcoholic buzz? More peaceful, less stressful. It definitely works, but unlike alcohol where it can go 1 of 2 ways and cause unwanted anxiety, that doesn't happen with Kin. I've tried other euphoric beverages before that are out there on Amazon and while they all have similar effects, Kin is definitely marketed to be a fun yet healthy alcohol substitute.

So How Does It Work?

According to Kin's site the beverage works by "balancing adaptogens and replenishing nootropics". If you're like me, that sounded like space language. To make it more simple: Kin lowers your stress levels and increases your brain power. Sounds pretty great, no?

Effects

I was skeptical when I was reading about Kin but after my first drink I was convinced that the hype was true. I find it to be the perfect replacement to a glass of wine at night to unwind. It gives the perfect calming effect and eases the stress of the day. Now don't get me wrong, this isn't going to give you the effects equivalent to 3 tequila shots and you're not going to be taken to another planet either. The effects are subtle so if that's not what you are looking for this may not be for you. This is just for if you're looking for a slight boost in spirits or to unwind. Plus! Adaptogens are good for your body so at the very least you're improving your health.

Taste

I'm going to be honest: Kin does have a bit of an earthy taste (which makes sense because it contains a lot of natural ingredients). I've experimented mixing with everything from juices and tonics and so far mixing with berry flavored club soda is my favorite concoction! Also, since my first discovery of the product, they now make pre-made mixed Kin drinks, which are better if you want to skip the whole DIY bartending aspect.

I think that about covers it! If your New Year's resolution is to cut down on indulging and drinks, now you have something to enjoy as a replacement. Interested in learning more about euphorics? I'll have a guide and reviews about all the ones I've tried thus far coming for you in the new year!

*As always with any new supplement, consult a doctor before taking if you have any medical conditions or health concerns
