How I Organize My Poshmark Inventory

Hi loves!

Welcome back!

In today's world we're all just trying to make an extra dollar or two, and I know a lot of you like myself are Poshers. For those that aren't, let me fill you in on why you should be! Poshmark is a great app where you can sell AND BUY second hand pieces. In the world of thrifting and being environmentally conscious this is exactly what savvy shopping looks like.

Having an organized Poshmark closet can be overwhelming (unless you have immense closet space... but who has that). So how does someone who has limited space keep track of their Poshmark inventory? Here's how:

1. Separate Clothing, Shoes, And Accessories

By separating these three categories you'll know exactly where to go when it is sale time. I like to keep my clothes in one container, accessories in another, and shoes on a separate rack stuffed at the toe (or shaft if it is a boot) to retain shape! For accessories that came in their dust bag, make sure to always keep the two together. You can always add this as a selling point for your product.

2. Make an Inventory List

Working in fashion for all of my adult life has me very conscious of inventory. One of my favorite ways to keep track of 70+ listings on Poshmark is to keep an inventory list for every storage container and a list of where all product is located. Once something is sold, it simply gets crossed off the list. This could be made the old-school way via paper or you can be fancy and produce an Excel sheet. When I have product hanging on a rack, I'll list where these products are located as well. This makes life way less stressful than having all your product mixed in with your current wardrobe and having to dig.

3. Use Storage Containers

My worst Poshmark fear is I end up letting a friend borrow, or end up donating, a piece that I forget is in my Poshmark closet and it SELLS. Then what? Since this is still a business, I want to maintain a good reputation for future customers. SO, I use storage containers to hold all of my inventory, just as a retail store would. Here are a few options if you don't have any already in storage (click the image to buy on Amazon):

4. Keep Shoes On Separate Shoe Rack

I always love a shoe rack for organizing shoes. This way clothing and shoes aren't mixed in together, especially if the shoe has been lightly worn. You can use a seperate shoe rack or, if space is limited use a shelf on an existing on. I try not to put shoes (unless they are flats) in storage containers as they can become distorted.

5. Keep Shipping Materials Organized

Just as important as product is shipping materials. I keep a box organized with all kinds of boxes and padded envelopes (free from the Post Office) to notecards that I use to write to every customer. You can get customized stationery for your Poshmark channel or brand here!

And there you have it! Now your Poshmark business is up, running, and most importantly, organized!
