How To Do the Oversized Trend When You’re Under 5’4

It looks like the oversized trend is here to stay and for someone that loves all things oversized (and anything that's going to hide my stomach after a carb loaded lunch) I'm all for this trend. 😉

There's only one problem.... oversized on my 5'3 (on a good day) self, can look ridiculous. For example: this Zara oversized button down that I bought in a size S/M could also be used as a tent if need be... so how do I style these oversized pieces? Well here are some of my solutions:

Belts

I honestly will try to belt any piece I can in my closet. It is such a simple accessory but adds a nice touch to so many outfits. For this oversized Zara blouse, tent be gone, and now you can tell that I actually have a little bit of a figure! All without loosing the oversized aspect of the top.

A Slim Complimenting Piece

The absolute keyyy to wearing oversized pieces when height isn't on your side is making sure you are also wearing a complementing slim piece. For example: oversized shirt with a skinny or straight-leg jean or oversized boyfriend pant with a slim top. Of course, this isn't always the case as some flowy oversized pieces pair extremely well together. But I've found if you're struggling to decide what to wear your new billowing shirt with going for a slim bottom always assists a short figure.

Shoes With Some Height

Nothing helps give you a little extra height like a heel. Wearing a heel helps elongate the frame so that an oversized dress or tunic appears slimmer than it is (and so do your legs!) I love anything from a kitten heel during work hours to a higher stiletto for a night out.

What do you think?! I would love to know everyone's tips and tricks for oversized pieces (and styling in general) for all heights! Like this outfit? Get the look below!
