I'm a firm believer that everyone was put on this earth with a strong passion for one little thing to make the world better. For me, I love animals and protecting animals (i.e. why I'm a vegetarian, don't wear fur, and minimize the amount of leather in my wardrobe (room for improvement there but hey, none of us are perfect)) but I will immediately feel faint as soon as I step into a hospital so dealing with human pain is not my strong suit.
On that note, I recently read an article on how brands are selling REAL fur and passing it off as faux so I thought I'd share this with anyone who feels strongly on the matter as well. It is the ONE simple thing to look out for to tell if what you're buying is actually faux fur or if a brand's trying to pull a fast one.
So what is it? Simply look at the ends of the individual strands of "fur". If the end is blunt (looks like a straight cut) it is faux but if the end is pointed you have real fur. That's literally it! So easy and such a small thing you can do to make sure you're buying cruelty free clothing. To take your efforts one step even further shop these completely vegan companies. Some of my favorites are Matt & Nat, Shrimps, and Veganized World (literally the best vegan/fashion graphic tees, if you're reading this blog I know you'll love).
As always, shop my favorite (truly) faux fur looks below to try this little scientific observation yourself. 😉
