Life Ain't Always Peaches and Tea When You're 5'3

Petite

To all the petite ladies out there... this one is for you.
Being short definitely has some perks and pains that come along with it. Unfortunately, buying clothing tends to be on the pain list. How I would long for long skinny legs to fit into Karl Lagerfeld jeans while looking as fab as Karlie Kloss...*sigh* but on the bright side I can be an undefeated champion of hide and seek, as no space is too small. BUT in all reality there are some bomb clothing websites out there for those of you who, like me, were not naturally selected to be supermodel (or just avergly...) tall.
Anyways continuing on... There's 3 pieces I find it ESPECIALLY important to buy in petite size and this is why:
  1. Jumpsuits: rompers usually any size can work because there's no leg material and measurements usually focus on the torso (so unless you're supermodel tall this isn't much of an issue). Jumpsuits on the other hand... Yeah... If I ever accidentally pick up regular size I need to wear 8 inch heels to make up for that extra material, and there's nothing I hate more than investing money into a tailor for a jumpsuit I'm only wearing on nights out. That's why I LOVE Boohoo (where the above jumpsuit is from). Their clothing is very reasonably priced, they have a petite line, and it's super sylish. I can always find a $300 item I like on Boohoo for $30 and it makes my day.
  2. Maxi Dresses: on the same line as jumpsuits, I don't always want to pull out the 8 inch heels or have a train I'm tripping over all day, so petite maxi dresses are an essential. Asos also has a fab petite line that really slays so I suggest checking it out along with their cute lace knee length dress above.
  3. Denim: I'm not the biggest denim fan, especially because they never fit right for me. I splurged once on a nice pair of jeans but other than that you never know when you're going to loose (or gain) weight and jeans have no forgiveness, so I don't like spending huge money on just some denim. That plus my short legs... a petite denim pair of jeans is so important. Once again, love Boohoo. Also, Asos has this amazing option of choosing pant length so I can always find great petite jeans on their site.
  4. Other variables: Those are my three essentials but of course everyone varies so I listed another great site with a petite line: New Look. I literally just discovered this site and am obsessed because it takes celeb styles and makes them affordable. PLUS a petite line. Just gold. The U.K. is slaying in recreating celeb styles at reasonable prices (currently all my favorite online shops are U.K based). I don't tend to mind shirts being a little longer in the torso or sleeves, or dresses not being as mini as they would be if I was 5'7 but if those are your pains of petiteness than this site has some great options as well.

Let me know your thoughts on your petite faves, tips, and tricks! (or if you're tall, what sites do you suggest for other tall women? I hope to do a post for all of you as well and need some insider advice!)

Xo.

Reading your site is big pleasure for me, it deserves to go viral, you need some initial traffic only.
