Planning A City Chic Birthday

Good morning everyone!

Does anyone else leave party planning until the last minute?

I've always been a procrastinator (not my best trait) but especially when it comes to my birthday! I can never decide what to do. As all my friends will attest to, I decided 2 weeks before my birthday last year that I wanted to rent a yacht. What can I say? I work well under pressure.

Anyway, this year has been no different!  I've been frantically calling restaurants in Manhattan to see who can accommodate my entire birthday party. With less than 2 weeks to spare, I (almost) have it all figured out.

I want to take you along my birthday planning process and show my potential locations, how I did my invites, and most importantly... my outfit options! Who doesn't love a birthday? Hopefully, it will give you some ideas if you're a known procrastinator like myself 😉

Location

While I'll reserve my actual party location for a future post, I will say that picking a location is SO hard in a city like New York. There are actually a million and one places to choose from! Here are some of my top picks for a celebration and places I highly considered throwing my soirée at:

STK

May take a taxi 10 minutes to get down 1 street but no place I’d rather be🖤

I love STK for anything from a dinner with a view to a brunch with friends. The rooftop is one of my favorite spots in the city and for sure a great place to celebrate at. It offers the perfect city-glam vibe if that is what you are looking for.

Cafe Altro

Delicious Italian fare and a prix-fixe menu for parties larger than 7 makes Cafe Altro the perfect place when you don't want to worry about dividing the bill 7 ways! In my book, you can never go wrong with Italian food and the menu here is divine.

Refinery Rooftop

Refinery is another great rooftop in the city with an unbeatable view of the Empire State Building. This is the perfect place to host a private party or even just to grab a few drinks! The ambiance here is amazing and the best part is you can go both in the summer and winter since it is enclosed.

The Garrett

Want to be more low-key? The Garret Bars may be what you are looking for! With 3 locations, these intimate bars are perfect for grabbing a drink and enjoying the company around you.

Invites

Now it comes time to formally invite everyone! There is nothing I love more than a stylish invitation. THANKFULLY, I came across this innovative website: Paperless Post.

I'm absolutely obsessed with this site for modern invitations! Let's be real...who is sending out paper invites anymore? Paperless Post takes the fun and design of paper invitations, puts it all into digital format, and then let's you send the invites to your entire address book! So 2019, right? Everyone can respond in 5 seconds within the invite and you receive the whole list of attendees in one place. I love how simple it is to stay organized.

With designs from Kate Spade, Jonathan Adler, and Anthropologie this will for sure be my go to for all event invites.

See for yourself at paperlesspost.com .

Outfits

Onto my favorite part of planning!

I've been loving Revolve and Retrofete for my birthday outfit options. Standout colors and sequins have been my go-to this year for a special celebration. I have yet to decide on a final look so here are some of my top potential options you may like for your next celebration as well!

Stay tuned for an update on how it all came together! Maybe this post helped spark some inspo for your next big celebration. Also, if you have any party planning tips, I would love to hear!
