Hi lovelies!
Halloween is nearly here and the rush to find a last minute costume for tomorrow or the weekend is on. As someone who hates scary, gore, and anything to do with the spooky side of Halloween (I literally dressed as a Disney princess every year until 4th grade) I still go along with the flow. I love a costume that is simple but relates to my personal style. With that said, what better classic fashion icon to replicate other than Holly Golightly in Breakfast at Tiffany's? Audrey Hepburn is an inspiration and her looks in this movie are not only iconic but so easy to recreate. If you're in a pinch and want the perfect costume this Halloween, here are the 4 versions of Holly Golightly you can be with simple pieces that are most likely already in your closet!
Look 1: The Iconic Breakfast at Tiffany's Look
A black dress, pearl necklaces, and tortoise frame sunnies pulled together with a hair bun and glitzy hair accessory. This look is easy and almost impossible to confuse with any other character. Choose this look if you want a classy but recognizable Halloween ensemble.
Look 2: Holly's Early Morning Outfit
I loved this simple look so much that this is what I chose to go as for a Halloween party this past weekend! I Amazon prime'd the accessories, found an oversized white button-down in my closet, and paired with nude heels. $30 in total! Pair with everyday make-up and a slight hair poof and you have a Halloween look that will make you feel just as good as Tiffany's does.
Look 3: Sing Sing Visit Attire
Similar to the iconic look but with an oversized brim hat. All you need is a black dress, those tortoise sunnies, and don't forget the alligator shoes! You're now ready for Halloween... or a visit to Sing Sing... but hopefully not the latter.
Look 4: Holly's Knitting Outfit
This is for the anti-Halloween spirit: a black pair of trousers and a khaki turtleneck are all you need for this look! Very on trend if I do say so. This outfit is first shown as Holly is knitting what may potentially be a ranch house, and seen later on when she is arrested for her Sing Sing visits. Many pivotal moments in the movie but a costume that may need explaining for those less versed in the film.
I hope you all have a great Halloween and don't get a case of the mean reds at all during November.
xo.
