Top Podcasts To Help Improve Every Aspect of Your Daily Life

Hey everyone! Welcome back.

In these "new normal" times you may be stuck wondering how you yourself can create a new normal. I've actually been wondering the same thing and because of it, I've turned to podcasts. Whether it be to get educated on a new topic, learn a new skill, or even start a business, there is a show and an expert for it all. I've rounded up the best for each daily life category and even share my favorite place to get further reviews for all the podcasts you've been curious about! Let's get into it:

1. Best Educational Podcasts

I love improving my brain's data bank but truly had no idea where to find podcasts to increase my overall knowledge. That's when I did a little researching and came across vurbl, an awesome site with tons of podcast reviews. Here they gave a whole catalog of the best educational podcasts not only to educate yourself, but your kids as well! Homeschooling, whether you're juggling a full-time job or not, can be less than ideal. So why not have a fun educational distraction on hand when you need quiet time for a conference call.

My Top Loves:

Grammar Girl Quick and Dirty Tips For Better Writing
I loved Grammar Girl's site in college. I used it all the time while writing papers (and I still don't think I'd know how to properly use a semicolon if it wasn't for her).  Now, she has short podcast episodes that touch on all your writing queries, educational for both you and your essay writing adolescents.

The Art History Babes
If you've been wanting to get into art history there are a plethora of great podcasts out there. If you don't know where to start, try here. I personally love art museums but didn't pay as close attention as I should have in Art 101... SO I turn to podcasts that try to make up for lost time. The Art History Babes talk about all different art pieces while sipping on wine, now that's my kind of lesson.

50 Things That Made The Modern Economy
Listening to a 30 minute educational podcast sometimes feel more like a lecture than entertainment. That's why I love 50 Things That Made the Modern Economy. These episodes report on so many interesting topics and run about 10 minutes each. Recommended for all ages!

2. Favorite Podcasts To Improve Wellness

There is no better time than now to treat yourself with kindness and have reassurance in knowing you're doing great. If you're wondering how you can say these words and truly believe them, this category is for you. I love wellness podcasts to improve both my physical and mental health. From them I've learned the brain has a good reason for loving routine and also there's a healthy reason why you shouldn't eat some fruits and vegetables (hint: both can be discovered from the podcasts below). I've listed my top faves but check out further suggestions here if you need even more guidance.

My Top Loves:

The Happiness Lab with Dr. Laurie Santos

This was one of the first mental health podcasts I started listening to. I enjoy podcasts with a wide variety of subtopics and absolutely love learning about the human mind. This podcast is hosted by Dr. Laurie Santos, a professor at Yale and goes into all aspects of what affects our happiness (and it's not what you may think).

The One You Feed

Want to dig into a little bit of everything when it comes to mental health? This series is for you. Touching on topics like anger management and spirituality, these episodes are great to learn how your flaws can become your strengths. Perfect before entering back into the full-blown real world.

The Dr. Gundry Podcast

If you love health trends, want to get into them, or even are just curious. This is your podcast. I bought Dr. Gundry's Diet Evolution before anyone knew what the word podcast meant and now everyone in my family has a copy. Now you can stream all his great advice. Through him I've learned that drizzling olive oil on everything is probably one of the best things you can do for your health (listen and you'll see)!

3. Podcasts If You're Looking To Learn A New Skill

When I'm bored, I online shop. I must admit, it isn't the most useful pastime. That's why I've started listening to podcasts that are teaching me new skills in order to be just a littttle more productive. You can learn so much by just listening to something a few minutes everyday. So what are you waiting for?

My Top Loves:

Investing For Beginners

We all want to make a little extra money, right? This podcast goes into ways of investing for those new to the game. I honestly thought investing was just for people upwards of a 7 figure income until I started listening. Now, I know how to make my money work for me! From real estate to stocks and even buying a car, this podcast gives advice on it all and I recommend giving it a listen.

Start Cooking

Start Cooking is a (video) podcast if you want to learn how, or improve upon, making basic and simple recipes! Perfect for those of use who have been utilizing DoorDash just a bit more than usual. Now I know how to perfectly boil an egg #chefstatus

The Blogging Millionaire

You're reading this so you know I run a blog. Well guess what? You can too! If you've been looking to get started with blogging or if you have a blog and are looking to monetize, this is a great podcast to listen to! These are short and sweet episodes that go into SEO, influencing an audience,  and even how often you should post each month. Perfect for new and longtime bloggers.

4. Great Podcasts If You Just Want to Laugh

Whether you want to unwind after a long WFH day, start the morning off on the right foot, or need a 2 pm pick me up, laughter is the best solution.  These podcasts below are my favorite comedic relief and some of which I have had the longest loyalty to.

My Top Loves:

The Morning Toast

If you want the news but don't want it to be boring and want comedy but don't want it to seem forced, The Morning Toast your perfect podcast. Hosts Claudia and Jackie Oshry will have you in good company during this quarantine while keeping you laughing along the way.

The B*tch Bible

Jackie Schimmel is a girl who says it like it is and doesn't care what you think. Her unfiltered comments have me laughing every episode and her humor also has me thinking we could be best friends. If you're a Real Housewives follower, you'll love this show even more.

No Such Thing as a Fish

I wanted a mood boost one day and decided to check out comedics I hadn't yet listened to. I looked through these reviews and came across No Such Thing as a Fish.  I was instantly hooked by each episode discussing random (but useful) facts intertwined with comedy. A great discovery if you've already listened to all the Top 10 comedy podcasts on Itunes (or wherever you listen) and are looking to switch it up.

I challenge you to try out a new podcast today, you may surprise yourself! I love listening to podcasts while taking my daily immunity boosting walks that I discussed in this post. Nothing like getting in your daily low intensity workout in and learning something new, or even just laughing, at the same time.

What do you think? Do you have any faves not mentioned above? I'd love to know!

Stay safe out there!
